From here begins moust of the paths in Rodophe
The village is located in a region full of eminences, all of witch suggests wonderful views. Gela is situated at the food on the highest part of Rodophe Mountain, under the peak of Orpheus /2188m. /, witch is a part of Pereliko-Karlaks ridge. According to archeologists, Gela is one of the oldest settlements in the region.

The nature landmarks here at the region are numerous. Near to Gela are situated the caves Lednicata, Yagodinskata, Dyavolskoto garlo, also the peaks Golyam Perelik, Malak Perelik, Orpheus, Turlata. To all these places there are made tourists routes with marking. In the village and around it there are two churches and a lot of chapels, the famous one are St. Ilia, around witch is leading the traditional festival of the village of Gela. At the outskirts of the village there is remains of a big monastery burn by time of Turkish slavery and remains of ancient Rome roads.
